Why was HFPN created? 4 reasons:

Our national epidemic of overweight and obese individuals.

The obesity epidemic is not going away anytime soon. According to the CDC, 49 of 50 US states had a prevalence of obesity over 20% and 32 of those states were over 25%. According to The National Institute of Health, 133.6 million or 66 percent of US adults are overweight. Society needs fitness professionals to guide them, create evidence-based programs to keep them safe, coach them, motivate them and hold them accountable to their goals. With HFPN, fitness professionals can connect with and help more clients than ever before.

Fitness professionals are “prevention specialists.”

We live in a society of “sick care,” not health care. In 2008 there was an estimated $2.4 trillion spent on health care. That is over 4 times what was spent on national defense.
